Gospel-Centered Help for Fathers
The Gospel Tells Us Who We Are
Leading your family well can feel like a daunting task, particularly if you misunderstand the role of fatherhood as God intended it. When we think of our families as ours and not fellow image-bearers, we lose sight of the calling God has for us in parenthood.
In his book, Parenting: 14 Gospel Principles That Can Radically Change Your Family Paul David Tripp says:
The big picture starts with knowing who you are as a parent. I don’t mean your name, address, and Social Security number. I mean who you are in relation to who God is, to what life is about, and to who your children are. If you don’t have this “who you are” perspective right, you will miss the essence of what God has called you to, and you will do things that no parent should do.
