How Is the Sexual Revolution Affecting Women and Girls Today?
We Are Embodied
There is one thing that the sexual revolution has done to women and girls that I don't think we really consider very often. It is pervasive. It is far-reaching. The ramifications are really destructive. And that is this idea that our bodies and our souls are not unified, that our bodies are just physical objects, and our hearts and minds or thoughts are different or separated from our bodies.
And so in this way, we've really turned our bodies into tools or instruments, objects to be consumed. And in that way, especially for girls and women, we have been told to believe that we're only as valuable as we are sexy or sexualized, and that we are something to be consumed. And that has been incredibly damaging.

For one, it has led us into all kinds of throw-away relationships where we are consumed and then done away with. Another thing that it has brought about is abortion. We have literally done away with the bodies inside our bodies, and in doing so, we've been incredibly harmed ourselves. The sexual revolution has told women and girls that your body is different from your soul, your body is something to be commodified, something to be used up. This message has been incredibly traumatizing and incredibly damaging in ways that I don't think we've even totally wrapped our minds around yet.
We are embodied souls, and our bodies were created good by our good God.
So many women and girls in our age are walking around with this trauma and these deep, deep wounds because they've sought to separate their bodies from their souls. But the truth is we are unified. We are embodied souls, and our bodies were created good by our good God. And so we must cherish and honor and protect and steward our bodies, our minds, our hearts, and our souls well and in a unified way.
