Mom, Your Hardest Day Is Not the End of Your Story

Great Hope

Today isn’t the end of the story. It’s a page in a chapter. For believing women, this is a chapter in a book with a very good ending. And when we can consider that good ending, it brings hope to where we live today. Knowing that Christ is waiting for us at the end of this story—and that that ending really is a beginning, and that we are going to have these tears wiped away, there’s going to be no more pain, no more death, no more of these sorrows related to motherhood—gives us great hope.

God Is Still Good

Katie Faris

God Is Still Good invites women to experience God’s comfort and grace through the sorrows of motherhood and leads them to put their hope in Christ, despite the unexpected trials of life.

It gives us great hope, not just because we look forward to that day, but because we live right in the middle, waiting for redemption to happen—the redemption of broken hearts and broken bodies. But God is good and his promises are sure. Mourning may last for a night, but rejoicing does come in the morning, and in light of these momentary troubles and trials, there is an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.

God is good and his promises are sure.

If we were to take all of your motherhood sorrows and all of my sorrows related to motherhood and we were to put them all together on one side of a scale opposite the glory that God has waiting for us on the other side of that scale, it would outweigh them all every single time. These truths are healing balm for weary and beleaguered moms. They are truths that we can cling to on our hardest motherhood days.
