The Urgent Need of the Gospel

Dear Friend of Crossway,
This last year, the urgent need for the Gospel has been dramatically evident wherever we look “to the ends of the earth.”
We are therefore deeply grateful for your partnership in the Gospel with Crossway as a not-for-profit ministry—through the urgency of your prayers and through your gracious support—as the Gospel of Jesus Christ our Lord provides the only way, truth, and hope of salvation in this life and forever.
By way of encouragement, I wanted to share a few Crossway ministry highlights from recent years, through the Lord’s gracious hand of provision. For example:

26.7 million print editions of the ESV Bible were published and distributed during the 2016 calendar year—with most of these complete Bibles and New Testaments being distributed free through evangelistic ministry partnerships.

An additional 100,000 ESV Global Study Bibles were distributed during 2017 free of charge in 37 countries, bringing the total to more than 350,000 ESV Global Study Bibles distributed by Crossway during the last two years—to equip pastors and leaders in areas of great need around the world, primarily in Africa, Asia, and India.

Thousands of Bibles, Gospel tracts, and books were provided free to prison ministries in the US and to Crossway ministry partners in countries worldwide.

Bibles were provided to incoming cadets at The United States Military Academy, as Crossway now carries forward the West Point Bible distribution started 149 years ago.
This New Year, many of the above are ongoing, and I would be most grateful for your continued urgent prayers and gracious support for ministry projects such as those listed above, and also for additional ministry initiatives planned for this coming year including:

Strategic support for the translation of ESV Study Bible notes and resources into a number of crucial languages, including Arabic, Tamil, and a number of other important world languages.

Ongoing development and expansion of digital Bible study resources for free distribution around the world, which this year (2017) included more than 339,000,000 requests for free online access to the ESV Bible.
Given the urgency of these and other Crossway ministry initiatives planned for next year, we would be grateful for your prayers for the Lord’s gracious hand of provision—and if you would likewise consider helping to support Crossway by making an end-of-the-year contribution. Every donation made will be used fully to further the not-for-profit publishing and distribution ministry of Crossway.
