Today we rejoice that God has been glorified through the gifts of so many of you who have faithfully partnered with us. We are pleased to share that we have met and surpassed our goal of raising $500,000 for the initial phase of this project! The Lord has provided abundantly over the last six weeks, as he has stirred many hearts to give.
Due to your generosity, 500 men, women, and children in Pastor German Banda’s village in Lusaka, Zambia, will be given a Bible of their own, becoming some of the first recipients of Bibles provided through the One Million Bibles Initiative. This shipment will be sent out to his village in the coming weeks, allowing him to carry out his mission in Lusaka:
[When we receive Bibles,] we will organize evangelistic seminars in our village. When people attend these seminars and hear about Jesus, we will give them these Bibles. We will continue to have these seminars and hand out Bibles until each person in the community has a Bible. Once these people have Bibles in their own homes, we will see transformation in the years to come.
Your giving will allow for further gospel transformation in Lusaka, Zambia, and beyond. More than 100,000 additional Bibles will be printed, delivered, and distributed by partners around the world in the coming months. This is just the first phase of the Initiative, and we will need your continued support in the days to come as we pursue the goal of distributing one million Bibles to one million believers in the Global South.
