Africa's Growth = An Opportunity for Church Growth
In terms of Africa’s growth and in terms of the number of people, I’m hearing statistics such as, when you think about the church, for example, 38% of church-goers—or people who claim to be Christians—will be on the continent of Africa in the next 50, 60, or 70 years.
Therefore, the question is not, will there be a church on the continent of Africa? The question is, what kind of church will it be? We’re seeing growth in Africa because people are having a lot of children; it’s a young population. When you consider that 50% of the population in these countries is under the age of 25, this indicates an incredibly young population as well.
They’re highly influential, they’re coming up quickly, and again, it frames our work as God’s people around the world to supply the next generation with good content.

Crossway is partnering with ministries like the Rafiki Foundation to distribute Bibles to children in Africa who may not otherwise receive a Bible of their own. Rafiki will provide locations throughout Africa for thousands of Bibles to be shipped. Once on the ground, Rafiki will coordinate the specific distribution plan for assuring that each Bible is placed into the hands of a young person.
