An Expanding Country Who Is Starved of Resources
Christians around the world should invest in the spiritual vitality of the church in Africa because it needs it. And that might seem weird because, well, the whole world needs it, but the church in Africa especially needs it. It’s a church for which we are thankful that the Lord has done his work because it has grown, and it seems like it’s going to continue to grow.
But it’s also a church that’s plagued with many challenges. We are grateful for the faith, and yet we are really desperate for the knowledge that accompanies that faith, to deepen that faith, to make that faith all the more biblical, rich, and historical. This is where we are weak. So in many ways, we are starved of resources—we are under-resourced. We are especially needy of enrichment and investment when it comes to theology so that our relationship with the Lord might be all the more robust and biblical. —Ken Mbugua, Pastor of Emmanuel Baptist Church, Nairobi, Kenya
